About this event

Help us celebrate more than a decade of honoring Spokane’s preservation champions. The Awards Night will take place on November 15, 2026. Our celebration will be held at The Montvale Hotel, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Each year, Spokane Preservation Advocates shines a light on the people, projects, and places that keep Spokane’s history alive. From hands-on restoration and grassroots advocacy to thoughtful new construction and cultural preservation, these awards recognize outstanding contributions to our community’s historic fabric.

We are accepting Nominations until noon on Monday, October 12th for the categories shown below:

Preservation and Education. For individuals or groups who educate and inspire while championing historic preservation.

Preservation Media. For books, websites, signage, articles, or other public media that raise awareness of Spokane’s heritage.

Urban Residential Rehabilitation. For exceptional restoration of historic homes, structures, or residential sites in urban areas.

Urban Commercial Rehabilitation. For the revitalization of historic commercial buildings that breathe new life into Spokane’s business districts.

DIY Residential Restoration. For anyone who demonstrates superior workmanship and dedication to restoring their own historic non-commercial property.

Stewardship of Historic Landscapes. For exemplary, long-term preservation of historic gardens, parks, and natural spaces.

Community Cultural Award. For culturally significant buildings or sites that honor Spokane’s diverse stories and traditions.

Compatible Infill. For new developments that respect and reflect the architectural character of surrounding historic buildings.

SPA Founders Award (Volunteer of the Year). For long-standing volunteer commitment to Spokane Preservation Advocates.

Ann Price Advocacy Award. For individuals who demonstrate bold, effective leadership in local preservation advocacy.

Legacy Award. For a lifetime of influence and dedication to preservation, community service, and excellence. This award is especially meaningful—and often the hardest to fill. If someone comes to mind, we’d love to hear from you.

Joanne Moyer Award. For individuals with a long history of advocacy at both the local and state levels.

Whether it’s a lovingly restored home, a trailblazing advocate, or an interpretive sign that brings history to life—your nomination helps tell Spokane’s preservation story.
