- ➤ Stevens County Fire District One rescued a stranded yearling deer from the ice at Loon Lake Tuesday morning after neighbors spotted the struggling animal — the crew used a new cold-weather rescue technique and then warmed the deer before releasing it safely back into the forest. KXLY
