COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Maintenance crews repaired the damaged lights on Spokane's Monroe Street Bridge that were vandalized in late January, keeping the west sidewalk closed for safety until the fix.  KHQ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A house fire in Northwest Spokane caused significant damage and sent one adult to the hospital, with the cause under investigation.  KXLY

CRIME NEWS

  • Glen Dylan Burkey appeared in court to face charges for the fatal shooting of 13-year-old Gavin Looper in Spokane, with the judge maintaining his bond at $3 million.  KXLY

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Outlaw Music Festival, featuring Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and others, will return to Spokane on May 22 at ONE Spokane Stadium with tickets starting at $59.50.  KHQ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Spokane City Council unanimously approved a voluntary Alcohol Impact Area downtown to address issues of littering, drug use, and violent crime by asking convenience stores to not sell single-serving alcoholic beverages and restrict alcohol sales after midnight.  The Spokesman-Review
