- ➤ Local leaders will announce the first phase of the Together Spokane initiative today to spur community projects in Spokane. The new effort aims to increase local collaboration + boost neighborhood development. KXLY
- ➤ Pig Out in the Park, a community staple since 1979, will not return in 2026 because rising costs forced its retirement, according to organizer Bill Burke (who noted the event raised roughly $565 million and attracted nearly 4 million attendees). KHQ
- ➤ Spokane Public Schools will use bond funds to modernize North Central High School and build a new Trades High School while parks will add a new park and update playgrounds + build an all-weather field at Shadle Park; the projects kick off later in 2026 and continue into early 2027. KHQ
