- ➤ Police found the abducted 8-year-old girl at STA Plaza in downtown Spokane after her father—Reginald Kinsey—took her Tuesday evening, and he was arrested for kidnapping and violating a protection order. KXLY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Construction crews repaired a sewer main break that caused sewage to back up into the road over the weekend near Barnes Road in Spokane. Northbound Wall Street remains closed while southbound traffic is reduced to one lane with detours in place—the road is expected to reopen fully today. KXLY
- ➤ Spokane City Council member Lili Navarrete announced she will not run for reelection in District 2 due to health concerns—she said she will support the candidates running in the district. KHQ
- ➤ The City Council approved an interim zoning ordinance that eliminates building height limits in downtown Spokane. The ordinance took effect immediately and will remain until September 24—city officials will study development potential as part of the Comprehensive Plan update. City of Spokane

- ➤ University of Connecticut coach Geno Auriemma questioned Spokane as a host for NCAA March Madness games—saying there are not enough hotels—while local groups and city crews are cleaning downtown and securing quality lodging for teams playing at Spokane Arena starting Friday.
