- ➤ Two WSU Spokane medical students, Victoria Caldera and Carmella Crooks, launched a pilot program to train certified medical interpreters with support (Waters Meet Foundation and Nuestras Raíces) covering costs for 13 students. - ➤ Construction on a 1,000-foot section of South Barker Road in Spokane Valley began Monday as part of a project to widen the road, add a third lane, bike lanes, and sidewalks.
