- ➤ The city is starting a $4,931,720 phase one project this spring to connect Fish Lake and Centennial Trails by adding a paved trail and safer intersections around the BNSF tunnel (including lighting upgrades). Phase two with switchbacks through High Bridge Park is scheduled for 2027. KHQ
- ➤ On Friday, the Spokane Indians honored local firefighter Justin Blatner during First Responders Appreciation Night by inviting him to throw the first pitch — he was recognized for his quick response during last year's Avista Stadium concessions stand fire. KHQ
