Three new coffee blends will debut on Friday at a community event hosted by Communities in Schools to fund student programs in northeast Washington—Inspiration, Soft Launch and Daily Dose are available as whole beans or ground coffee, with a portion of proceeds supporting school resources.

Students tried a teleprompter challenge at Mead School District’s 7th Grade Career Fair at Mt. Spokane High School on Tuesday.

The event let students practice public speaking skills and explore different career ideas.

Spokane County Emergency Management launched a new mass notification system powered by Regroup after its previous provider suffered a cyber attack.

Residents must re-register online (alertspokane.org) to receive real-time alerts, and the county will test the system over the next 10 days.

On Monday, high school spring sports featured a complete game by Colby Bergman that led East Valley to a win over Rogers, while Evelyn Barry’s walk-off single gave Lewis & Clark softball a victory at Hart Field.

Tuesday's Greater Spokane League spring sports action saw Mt. Spokane shine as Kyle Rayment tossed a five-inning no-hitter and Wildcats softball won 10-0 with Emme Bond's grand slam — multiple local schools also secured wins in baseball, softball and boys soccer.
