Police responded at 3:15 a.m. Friday to a shooting at north Spokane's Maverick gas station on Montgomery Avenue and Division Street that killed one person and left another critically injured—one victim was taken to a hospital.

A fatal crash that killed a pedestrian occurred Thursday night at 9:30 p.m. on Sunset Boulevard — police said the driver was released at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
