- ➤ A house fire broke out in the West Plains near Thorpe Road Friday morning and Spokane firefighters arrived at 7:00 a.m. to extinguish hotspots, with no injuries reported — officials are investigating the cause. KHQ

- ➤ A 17-year-old from Spokane, Kage Mathews, was arrested at 9:00 p.m. Thursday on charges of beating a homeless man so severely he suffered skull fractures and for throwing a 40-lb Lime scooter at another person (his arraignment is set for May 13 at 9:00 a.m. with bond fixed at $20,000). KXLY
