- ➤ Hundreds of Native American tribes gathered at Spokane Convention Center for the Second Annual Northwest Powwow to celebrate their traditions with drumming and dancing - the powwow will continue today from noon to 5 p.m. at Spokane Conservation Center. KXLY
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spokane County, Spokane, and Spokane Valley signed an agreement to share data and coordinate responses for extreme weather, emergency shelters, and funding distribution—meeting state housing and homelessness plan requirements. Local officials said the updated plan replaces the 2012 contract and will pool limited funds to serve people in need—ensuring more consistent service measures across the region. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ Spokane is offering eligible low-income seniors and disabled property owners a monthly utility bill credit of up to $15 for water, sewer + solid waste services, with the credit showing on the bill the month after approval. KXLY
- ➤ Spokane County Fire District 4 reminds residents to grill safely this Memorial Day weekend and cautions that grills cause over 10,000 home fires each year.
