- ➤ Spokane Public Schools reported that nearly 65% of students participated in extracurricular activities this school year, up from 29% in 2022–23 as staff expanded clubs and sports to help after COVID closures. - ➤ Drivers on Interstate 90 and Highway 2 in Spokane and Airway Heights should plan for extra delays today as WSDOT crews begin sign bridge inspections at 4 a.m.—lane closures affect I-90 between Hamilton Street and the Highway 2 interchange and Highway 2 from the I-90 interchange to Fairchild Air Force Base—and the work runs until 5 p.m. today, until 4 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, and until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. - ➤ The Riverfront Park Committee will meet at the Pavilion Conference Room on Monday, June 9 to vote on a proposed downtown zipline project. A heat advisory is in effect from noon Monday to 9 p.m. Tuesday—high temperatures will rise to between 91 and 101 degrees and residents are advised to drink fluids and stay cool. KHQ

- ➤ The CDC and FDA have recalled over one million eggs sold at Walmart in Washington for Salmonella. The recalled eggs, which include brown cage‑free and brown certified organic varieties with sell by dates from March 4 to June 19, were distributed from February 3 to May 6 and should be thrown out or returned to the store.
