GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spokane Police Department will now release video summaries of police shootings under investigation—using legally permitted 911 calls and body-cam footage to show key details. The first summary comes from a January domestic violence case in which a suspect was shot after being medically cleared and the investigation was sent to the county prosecutor's office. KXLY
- ➤ Spokane County Parks, Recreation and Golf has enforced immediate burn restrictions in unincorporated parks to reduce wildfire risks from dry, breezy weather—prohibiting outdoor burning and use of charcoal briquettes. Liberty Lake ORV Park will close to motorized activities on Monday, July 7 while local officials advise pet owners to keep animals indoors during the July 4th celebrations. KHQ
