- ➤ The Spokane Fire Department is responding to two fires near downtown Spokane and has closed 3rd Avenue from Cowley Street to Sherman Street — the Spokane Police Department is investigating the cause with no estimated time for reopening. KHQ
- ➤ A brush fire near Spokane Falls Community College prompted Level 3 evacuations on campus and in nearby housing along W Elliott Dr. — N Holy Names Ct. and W Elliott Ct as the blaze spread across four acres from four separate points and crews worked to control it while residents were advised to stay clear. - ➤ Spokane Valley detectives are investigating vandalism that caused an estimated $12,500 in damage to a resurfaced basketball court and a newly planted tree at Greenacres Park between July 4 and July 6 — deputies responded at 9:15 a.m. on July 7, delaying the park renovation. KXLY

- ➤ Spokane County officials met on July 7 to plan safety upgrades near Creekside Elementary School + the meeting focused on a $940,000 grant for sidewalk improvements, ADA ramps and flashing beacons to manage busy routes with over 10,000 vehicles daily.
