CRIME NEWS

  • A local man was sentenced to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking after a Spokane court found he played a key role in an organized drug ring.  KXLY

CULTURE NEWS

  • Field to Feast, a film project with Spokane roots, launched its pilot episode on Thursday online featuring chef Chad White hunting on Jed Conklin’s family farm in Kentucky—he processed part of the harvest into a meal. Conklin hopes the 20 minute film will start a series that teaches chefs how to harvest and prepare their own food.  The Spokesman-Review
  • Big Table is preparing its 11th annual 'Eats Around the World Mission Impossible' event on October 6 at the Davenport Grand Hotel—featuring global cuisine from Spain, Lebanon, and South Africa. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Washington's Office of the Auditor found that over $10 million in taxpayer funds meant for the Digital Navigator Program were misused with expenses including open bar tabs—first-class plane tickets and duplicate charges that were not properly reviewed.
