- ➤ Residents in Spokane noticed Lime scooters and bikes with purple decals—part of a domestic violence awareness initiative. The City of Spokane said on Wednesday that Lime will donate ride proceeds to YWCA Spokane during Domestic Violence Action Month. KHQ
- ➤ Downtown Spokane Partnership will host Fall Clean Week from October 13 to October 17, where volunteers and city crews will meet at 11 a.m. daily—tasks will include cleaning public walkways, washing murals, refreshing alleys and tidying parks as part of downtown beautification. KXLY

- ➤ At SCC’s Trades Discovery Day held yesterday in the gymnasium, 16 trades programs offered high school students and others a chance to explore new career paths from Diesel Heavy Duty Equipment to Architecture. Faculty and current students led hands-on activities that connected classroom learning with real industry opportunities. Spokane Community College
- ➤ Spokane Public Schools and Spokane Community College are partnering to create a full day, four year Trades High School that will teach hands on career skills in manufacturing, health sciences and construction to help fill local workforce gaps. District leaders will visit Phoenix for guidance on a similar program and plan to open the new school soon—giving students practical skills for life. KHQ

- ➤ Washington’s early modern firearm deer season opens Saturday, giving rifle hunters 10 days in October to fill their tags.
