- ➤ Spokane declared October 10 as Bing's Day to honor legendary singer Bing Crosby with a ceremony that unveiled the Bing Crosby Way landmark along Sprague Avenue near the Bing Crosby Theater in downtown Spokane. Today, Gonzaga campus will host a book reading at 10 a.m. and a dance performance at 1 p.m.—continuing the celebration of his local legacy. KXLY

- ➤ Eastern Washington University held a groundbreaking ceremony today for its new track and field facility in Cheney—gathering student-athletes, coaches, and community members. President Shari McMann said the project, years in the making, will boost the school’s athletics program. KHQ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Spokane officials will start construction work on Nine Mile and Rifle Club Rd. from Oct 13-17 — crews will install a new water transmission main and restrict travel lanes with parts of Rifle Club Rd. closed for local access. City maintenance on Qualchan Rd. will begin Oct 16 and continue until Oct 22, so drivers should slow down and allow extra time. City of Spokane

- ➤ Congress must extend the enhanced ACA premium tax credits to prevent rising premiums and loss of coverage for Washington families.
