SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday evening in rainy conditions at ONE Spokane Stadium, Spokane Velocity played to a 1—1 draw with South Georgia Tormenta FC after striker Luis Gil scored a penalty in the 52nd minute following Tormenta forward Niall Reid—Stephen scoring a free kick in the 39th minute. The team now stands third in the USL League One standings, two points behind Chattanooga, and although a win would have tied them for second, they have already clinched a playoff spot.  The Spokesman-Review
