GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Today, Indigenous Peoples Day leads to changes in city services across the region. In Spokane, parking meters and kiosks do not require payment although parking limits remain, city offices and waste services operate normally, and the City Council meeting is canceled, while in North Idaho, Kootenai County offices and the Sheriff's Office are closed but solid waste transfer stations in Coeur d'Alene and Post Falls remain open with normal hours resuming Tuesday.  KHQ

SPORTS NEWS

  • Saturday's Greater Spokane League games saw Lewis and Clark beat Gonzaga Prep 17-3, Ferris shut out Pasco 16-0, and Shadle Park win 10-0 in District 6 softball as each team will face top-seeded opponents today at 4:00 p.m. Cheney beat Clarkston 4-2 in girls soccer and Lewis and Clark's Elijah Tobin won the boys cross country Max Jensen Invitational in 15:27.18.  The Spokesman-Review
