GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff — following Governor Bob Ferguson’s directive — to honor four fallen soldiers who died in a helicopter crash on September 17. - ➤ Groundskeepers at Providence Hospital in Spokane discovered three religious statues behind a wall in the engineer shop during renovation work. The preserved statues—two of Mary and one of Saint Joseph—were originally placed beside a former swimming pool that has since been replaced by a healing garden. KXLY

- ➤ Monster Jam returns to Spokane Arena from October 17th to 19th with giant trucks performing high-flying stunts and drivers scored in real time. - ➤ Friday's District 6 slowpitch softball tournaments saw Ferris win the 4A bracket and become the only GSL team to advance, while Mt. Spokane and University won their 3A/2A games. Avery Fox hit three home runs for Mt. Spokane and Claire Fulkerson drove in eight runs for University, and both teams will play in the State tournament from October 24th to 25th in Yakima.
