  • Land Rover Spokane moved from its downtown Third Avenue lot to Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley, sparking concerns among local business leaders as office vacancy rose to 32% and safety enforcement weakened. Local owners worry the shift signals a broader change in downtown identity — prompting calls for stronger city action.  KHQ
  • Alaska Airlines had a major computer outage that stranded nearly 50,000 travelers with flight delays and over 400 cancellations, and the issue was fixed late Thursday night—though many flights remained delayed on Friday. Passengers are still waiting for new flight arrangements as agents work to rebook them.  KXLY
  • Gonzaga University business students are partnering with the University of Notre Dame and Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington on the SEEN program — a new initiative that connects low-income or in-recovery entrepreneurs with real-world mentorship to develop business plans, marketing strategies, and websites.   • Local Spokane County farmers face pressure from rising U.S.-Canada trade tensions as Montana Farmers Union's Walter Schweitzer warns that higher costs and fewer buyers could eventually end the family farm + reduce food supplies. Meanwhile, Wildland Cooperative on Green Bluff remains insulated from tariffs but struggles with lower consumer spending and cuts to support programs.  KHQ

  • Spokane voters will decide next month on the more than $400 million Together Spokane initiative — a plan pairing a Spokane Public Schools bond with a Spokane Parks levy to build a school and park in growing areas like Latah Hangman.  KXLY

  • Mariners’ catcher Cal Raleigh was named the Sporting News MLB Player of the Year on Friday — only the third Mariner to receive the honor — after finishing a season with 60 home runs, 125 RBIs, and 1,072 innings caught. He will await the AL MVP vote on Nov. 13.  The Spokesman-Review
