- ➤ The Salvation Army Spokane is hosting its Corporate Kettle Kick-Off event from November 11 to today to begin its Red Kettle Campaign, with 18 local businesses ringing bells to raise funds for community programs. Donations will support food, shelter and holiday services—such as Angel Trees at major stores—and help families in need. KHQ
- ➤ With Thanksgiving nearing, local groups in Spokane will offer events that let residents enjoy a holiday meal and fun activities. Nourish Spokane will host a free meal at 205 North University Road on Saturday from 2-4 p.m.—while other nearby events include side cook offs, runs, and potlucks—to support community gatherings for the holiday. - ➤ Spokane Neighborhood Action Partners has relaunched its Cuisine for Clients initiative to help local restaurants while providing meals to families and seniors in need. Donations made online or by text will enable SNAP to buy food from local businesses for distribution at its affordable housing properties and partner agencies. KHQ

- ➤ Spokane’s Two Two One Press released a punk rock compilation album titled 'Beneath The Falls: A Spokane DIY Sampler' that mixes veteran bands with newer acts and was recorded in part by Spokane Falls Community College students (all proceeds support the college program). The album will be celebrated with live shows at the Garland Theater on Friday and Saturday. The Spokesman-Review

- ➤ Spokane County Commission voted Monday to fast-track filter installations in PFAS-contaminated wells in West Plains so that more than 250 users may receive clean water by next summer. County staff will issue a request for qualifications—bypassing the normal public bidding process—using $7.5 million in state funds to address the long-standing contamination. The Spokesman-Review
- ➤ The Together Spokane initiative, which passed a bond levy, will support the parks department and Spokane Public Schools by demolishing and rebuilding Adams Elementary. City and district leaders said they will refine the project timeline over the next 30 to 60 days — and provide regular updates to the community. KHQ
