A weather balloon launched from Spokane last month collided with a United Airlines Boeing 737 near Moab, Utah on October 16 — injuring the captain — and the flight was diverted to Salt Lake City with no passengers harmed.

Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center halted its heart transplant program because a staff shortage arose after one surgeon left.
