  • Volunteers unpacked and assembled over 9,000 donated stuffed animals, toys, books, and pajamas on Monday for the Christmas Bureau (a joint effort by Catholic Charities, Volunteers of America and The Spokesman-Review) to help local families; the bureau will open Thursday with a toy, book, and grocery voucher for each child.  The Spokesman-Review

  • George and Patti Anderson launched Spokane Worms — a vermiculture business selling worm castings — from their workshop off Highway 195 in Spangle.
