More state resources are joining Spokane and Spokane Valley swiftwater rescue teams to help amid historic flooding.

Responders previously conducted multiple rescues under the State Mobe Act and will stay on standby as heavy rains, wind, and rising floodwaters continue today (teams include personnel from multiple agencies).

Looff Carrousel will host a magical holiday storytime on Friday at 11 a.m. for children (ages 2-5) featuring seasonal storytelling, preschool activities, a $1 carousel ride and a Santa visit at River Park Square.

A High Wind Warning is in effect from 10 PM Tuesday to 4 PM PST Wednesday for areas including Downtown Spokane, with damaging winds and potential power outages; residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid windows to protect against falling debris.
