Film Screening and Social Gathering: Gaza Is Our Home

About this event

The INWCLP and partners are pleased to present a screening of GAZA IS OUR HOME, with a special in-person appearance by the filmmaker!

GAZA IS OUR HOME is a deeply personal documentary by Palestinian-American filmmaker Monear Shaer, created from footage of his own family before and during the ongoing violence. What began as a collection of photos and videos became an urgent act of preservation - a way to honor family memory, everyday life, love, and loss amid the destruction of home and community. The film invites audiences to see Gaza, not as an abstract conflict zone or a collection of statistics, but as a lived home filled with relationships, history, joy, and grief. It is a declaration of presence: a reminder that the people of Gaza deserve to be seen, heard and remembered. Because "When home is erased, memory becomes an act of resistance..."

Please join us at Magic Lantern Saturday, November 7th. Doors open at 2:30; screening at 3:00, followed by in-person Q&A and a social gathering at the Community Building at 5:00
