Level 1: Fundamentals of Social Tango

Classes will cycle through 5 must-know step sequences that are packed with fundamental skill learning opportunities: backward ochos, going to the cross in cross system, the ocho cortado, rock step turn to the left which ends up in backward ochos, and turn to the left from backward ochos that ends up in parallel system. Each of these topics challenges key skill requirements for succeeding at this dance. And with each cycle of classes dancers will hone and improve their abilities to dance each movement until they are ready to graduate to the next level. Approximately every 6th week we will test our ability to dance tango’s Basic Eight sequence in an enjoyable manner! It’s not just a box! And it’s not just stepping!
