- ➤ A hazardous ammonia leak was reported at Riverfront Park’s ice ribbon on Friday, May 2 and was contained by Saturday morning when fire crews ventilated the area and used specialized monitoring equipment — the park has fully reopened. City of Spokane

- ➤ Sen. Maria Cantwell said there is a strong need for justice for Missing and Murdered Indigenous People ahead of the National Day of Awareness on May 5 — she backed Savanna’s Act, DOJ outreach, and $6.9 million in funds — while Eastern Washington University will hold a walk and rally from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Legends Casino will host a symposium from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. KHQ
