- ➤ On Saturday, hundreds gathered at St. Mary's Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in north Spokane for a long holiday service featuring traditional singing, chime ringing, and the carrying of a replica of the holy Ark of the Covenant. The celebration marked a year since the congregation purchased the church from Messiah Evangelical Lutheran—giving them a larger space to worship and feast on traditional Ethiopian dishes.
